MonkeyLabs

Game infrastructure studio. We build commercial products on top of open-source infrastructure. One engineer, real hardware, shipping code.

One engineer. Building in public.

What MonkeyLabs does.

🎮
01

Commercial products

We ship paid services that run on BananaKit. Temporary game servers, real hardware, no subscriptions.

🏗️
02

Powered by open-source

Everything we ship runs on BananaKit — the open-source toolkit maintained under BananaLabs. We eat our own cooking.

🌿
03

One-person shop

MonkeyLabs LLC is one engineer. No investors, no board. Revenue from products funds the open-source work.

Products

MonkeyLabs builds the commercial stuff. BananaLabs maintains the open-source stuff. Clear line.

🎮 Sessions.gg
Checking...

Why separate the company from the code?

🐒
MonkeyLabs LLC
The commercial entity. Sells services. Takes payments. Runs servers. If this disappears tomorrow, the infrastructure stays open.
🍌
BananaLabs
The open-source org. MIT licensed. No strings. BananaKit lives here regardless of what happens to the business. That's the whole point.

FAQ

Who's behind MonkeyLabs?
One engineer. Years of running game servers, building infrastructure at work, and figuring out what matters. Every component runs on real hardware before it ships.
What's the difference between MonkeyLabs and BananaLabs?
MonkeyLabs LLC is the commercial entity — it sells services and products. BananaLabs is the open-source org — it maintains BananaKit. Revenue from MonkeyLabs funds the open-source work.
Is Sessions.gg the only product?
Sessions.gg is the flagship commercial product and the proof that BananaKit works in production. More will come when the time is right.
Can I use BananaKit for my own stuff?
Absolutely. Head to bananalabs.gg — everything is MIT licensed. Pull the Docker images, point them at your servers, and go.
Is this just a hobby?
MonkeyLabs is an LLC. Sessions.gg takes real money and runs real servers. The open-source stuff is free because infrastructure should be. The commercial stuff is how the lights stay on.
